The newly elected Mayor of Chickasaw, Alabama is trying to permanently revoke the business license of the M Star Hotel, the only hotel in the city located right beside the interstate. This petition is deeply personal to us because it feels like an unfair targeting of a business that has gone through a tremendous transformation under new management.

About six years ago, the M Star Hotel was not in great condition, but the current management and owners have turned it around drastically. They have worked tirelessly to improve the premises and are willing and eager to meet any and all requirements set forth by the City of Chickasaw to ensure they align with community standards.

Despite the improvements, the Mayor is acting as though the hotel is responsible for the crime rate in the city, which is simply not true. In fact, the hotel is located in one of the safest areas of Chickasaw. Closing the M Star Hotel would only hurt the economy of our small city by reducing options for travelers and possibly discouraging visitors altogether.

Hotels near interstates are crucial for travelers who need a place to rest, making the M Star Hotel a significant part of our community's infrastructure. It's disheartening to see a business that provides such utility and offers local employment face closure for unfounded reasons.

We urge the Mayor and local officials to lift the potential closure and work collaboratively with the M Star Hotel to address any concerns they might have. Closing down this business will not only affect the hotel staff but also local vendors and the overall economy.
