Castle Grange is a council run, dementia specific home. Kirklees Council has announced a review of dementia residential services with one potential proposal being to close Castle Grange and move the residents to alternative care.

This would be hugely detrimental to the residents who need routine and familiarity in order to have the best quality of life. A move is likely to result in dramatic deterioration for those affected by dementia.

The decision to close Castle Grange or not will be made by the end of January 2024 so we need to act NOW!!

The staff at Castle Grange are dedicated to providing high quality care and getting to know each individual. They are welcoming to family and friends.

On a personal level our lovely mum Janet was diagnosed with Early Onset dementia in 2017. We cared for her at home for as long as we possibly could before making the heartbreaking decision to find residential care. This decision was extremely difficult for us but we felt Castle Grange could offer mum the life she deserved. The transition has gone better than we ever thought was possible. She is smiley and content and has an amazing relationship with the staff. We visit every day and are welcomed with open arms.
