Allow the Valarium and Cider House to stay open.

The Issue

The reason this is important to me is because this building is one of the best local music venues in our area. They have great sound amazing gear and host many national acts such as 10 years, Hoobastank, Perpetual Groove, George Clinton, DJ ICEY to name a few. They also house many local and regional bands and give them a place to present themselves as well as have dance nights and the proverbial Freakers Ball every Halloween. They are also being closed because of a group known at the Tennessee ABC(Alcohol Beverage Comission). Their excuse is that they are not selling enough food to meet gross sale demand. Which if you are a local or have visited the area and stopped at The Valarium or Cider House we all know that gross revenue is ticket sales and alcohol. They have been citation free since their opening and are an entertainment venue. All this reason to shut the venue down is over food sales which is ridiculous. As I stated before local artists thrive on this building to be able to present themselves and play with nationally recognized acts. This building is the main venue other that local acts can afford to play at. By closing these businesses you are not only killing small business, but are killing the dreams of many musicians and artists who just want to entertain people and have their voice heard whether they are a music act or a comedy act. Please sign this petition do not Shut down the Valarium and Ciderhouse and abolish the rule that a venue is required to have a set amount of food sales to offset their general sales its stupid and is propaganda. Also as a former and future musician I would love to play shows at this venue.
