Stop the Centerport Methodist Wireless Antennas

Stop the Centerport Methodist Wireless Antennas
The Issue
To: The Town of Huntington Zoning Board
Re: ZBA Hearing 22977
We respectfully request that you deny the request from Centerport Methodist Church and Cingular/AT&T which proposes to build a new 87' steeple and add three more wireless antennas to the existing three from Sprint.
We believe that the proposed cell tower is not in the community's best interests due to neighborhood impact, degradation of property values, and health concerns. We opposed this plan from the church back in May 2019, when it was defeated, and we continue to oppose it.
Property values- realtor associations and journals have found reductions in property values between 7% and 20% due to the close proximity to wireless antennas.

Future antennas - Once the steeple is raised, any additional antennas, "stealth" equipment, or newer technologies created by the telecom industry could be installed without notifying anyone.
Health Concerns - There are more than 1,000 scientific studies conducted by independent researchers from around the world concerning the negative biological effects of RF radiation. The current antennas are in the direct line of sight of homes in the surrounding streets and with the increase in steeple height and # of antennas, the radiation will now be reaching even more homes in the area.

We realize that CUMC will benefit financially from the antennas, but it will be at the expense of the neighborhood, so we hope that the TOH will stand up for its citizens and deny this proposal. Thank you.
