As citizens and parents who deeply care about the safety and well-being of our community, we are sounding the alarm about the proposed construction of a cellphone tower in our residential area. If this project moves forward, it will be placed dangerously close to our homes—immediately affecting the quality of life for families and neighbors and permanently changing our community. It also threatens to reduce the value of our homes, an investment many of us have worked tirelessly to build.

We are especially alarmed by the proposed site’s proximity to the airport. Placing a tall, lit structure near active flight paths introduces avoidable safety risks that should not be brushed aside or fast-tracked. Aviation safety must be treated as non-negotiable, including a rigorous review of tower height, obstruction lighting, and visibility—particularly during low-visibility weather and night operations. With well-documented national concerns about wireless signals and their safe coexistence with aviation systems, our community cannot afford a “build first, fix later” approach. This tower should not proceed unless and until a thorough, transparent safety evaluation confirms there is no added risk to pilots, passengers, and residents.

The construction of this tower poses significant aesthetic and economic concerns. A robust study published by the "National Institute for Science, Law & Public Policy" showed that property values could decrease 20-30% if a cellphone tower is nearby. For most of our community members, our homes are our most significant investment!

We propose a more suitable solution: relocating the tower outside nearby residential zones to areas where it minimizes impact on families and properties, yet still serves its purpose. City planning should also consider alternative technologies which are less intrusive to residents but provide the necessary network enhancements.

Our homes should remain safe sanctuaries free from unnecessary health risks and financial devaluation. We are urgently calling on city leaders and all decision-makers to halt any approvals, permits, or construction activity until there is a full public review of the risks and alternatives. Together, we can find a solution that protects both our health and our homes.
