We as citizens of Jefferson County & Leavenworth County are concerned about the Cryptocurrency Mine project that has been presented to be put outside the town of McLouth, Kansas. 

Cryptocurrency mining is dangerous for wildlife and farm animals in the area, including several farms located nearby and many spots that animals call home, including a wetlands nearby.

Kansas is known for agriculture and farming.The land that the Cryptocurrency Mining project is going to be put on, is in a section of land originally made for farming.

The biggest problem for us that has been brought forward with the ccc project is noise pollution that carries over for a mile or more. This has been found to move animal populations and be exceedingly harmful to livestock production, like milk.

The owners of these companies have also been rumored, or at least not yet verified, to be involved in debt, and numerous non-successful business endeavors and possible lawsuits. Many Cryptocurrency Mining projects across the country have negatively impacted the people who live nearby and the wildlife areas that resides there. Including in places like North Carolina and Texas. 

These people that are building a project outside of our beloved city don’t even know enough about the community, to pronounce the town’s name right, in a zoom call, with some concerned citizens. Let alone control a fire that already happened on the property, that can put the local volunteer firefighters and first responders, at risk. Both of these things prove that the owners of these companies don’t care enough about the people who live nearby or the farmers who provide money to our important agricultural economy. Only about the out of town, or out of state pockets that get lined because of profit. 

Please sign this petition and demand that farmers and citizens of Jefferson County & Leavenworth County get the CCC project to end.
