The new mayor of london sadiq khan has today launched a new 2 week consultation regarding the Wimbledon stadium planning application , you can email: planningadmin@london.gov.uk with your representations and your name and address again objecting to the redevelopment of wimbledon stadium and for the mayor to act as the planning authority for the case. The consultation ends on the 10th August and it then goes to review again. The consultation is open to all interested parties both individuals and businesses connected to stock car racing. we have put together some ideas that can be used as a basis for the #savewimbledon representations to sadiq khan mayor of london please email your thoughts to : planningadmin@london.gov.uk , all Interested parties can comment on the consultation. Email suggestion: "Dear Mr Khan As a fan of stock car racing that currently takes place at Wimbledon stadium I wish to object to the current planning application and would ask you please to continue to act as the planning authority for the following reasons. Wimbledon stadium is the last stock car racing motorsport venue operating in London and its loss would be a massive blow to both motorsport and London’s sporting and cultural diversity. The extremely low 9.6% affordable housing figure which was accepted by Merton council in order to help finance the building of the new football stadium is, I believe, unacceptable and way below your election manifesto pledge of a minimum of 50% affordable housing. Wimbledon stadium sits on an operational flood plain and both the stadium and Plough Lane itself has suffered flooding issues no less than three times during the past eight months: this clearly demonstrates that the flood risk is higher than has been suggested. The local transport infrastructure would not cope with the size and scale of the proposed development and I also feel that with Cross Rail consultations ongoing, this would have a significant effect on the development which shouldn’t proceed until Cross Rail 2 has been finalised. I feel there has been clear indications of pre-determination throughout the whole process of this application by Merton council despite its many problems and believe it is in the best interests of all parties involved, and London as a whole, that the Mayor of London continues to act as the planning authority in this case. " Kind regards Name and address on bottom thanks to everyone aswell for all your help and support.
