We have always advocated that Wimbledon Stadium should be a multi-sports stadium that serves the whole community and not just a select few, but even we had no idea that water polo, canoeing and kayaking would be introduced !! The stadium has been blighted by so much water in the last 24 hours that not only is the traditional weak spot of the car park under water, but so is large parts of the internal stadium. Our main picture reflects the area below the main grandstand where the lower bar and offices are. It's no wonder the staff employ a flood gate as a defence to protect their computer equipment. When will the powers that be at the Environment Agency accept that their decision last December to down grade their Risk Assessment was flawed? In the meantime, every time the rains fall, we'll be there to capture images of the evidence. Now when is this enquiry???
