Following the past couple of months, head quarters air cadets has been in the makings of changing the brassard lay out. Most air cadets will be aware of this and the large majority are heavily against it. The brassard for cadets isn’t just a brassard, it part of our air cadet identity, in which the courses we go on and gain experience and badges from allow us to represent that easily on our right arm. 

The new changes that are being proposed strip that partially away from us, in the terms of merging the communications and cyber badge together. Many cadets have worked hard to achieve their qualification and want to wear it proudly. Some other changes being the music badge being a single badge with different levels ( blue, bronze, silver and gold) instead of the various types you could get depending on your instrument. 

many have also been frustrated with space, and how it’s a large bulky badge. Some recommendations that have been mentioned are making is circular and replacing it with the parachute badge, thus it still fits on the brassard and won’t require the badge movement.
