Every morning, as I struggle to get my son to school on time, I am confronted by the havoc wreaked by the construction blocking the eastbound lanes on Northlake. This is not just my battle. Many residents around me are locked in this daily struggle as these blockages cause a gridlock, directly affecting numerous communities west on Northlake. Access for us is heavily restricted as there is no other route heading east except for Northlake. Many residents are not able to get to work without sitting in traffic for hours. Parents have to leave at the crack of dawn just to get their kids to schools and many others are missing important meetings or medical appointments. This is not acceptable!  Imagine a medical emergency or a mass casualty event? 

The Northlake lane blockage in these critical hours of the morning needs to be addressed urgently. We urge FDOT to reschedule construction times or to at least expedite this part of the project requiring eastbound Northlake lane closures. The safety of our communities depends on the expeditious resolution of this issue.
