Stop the bike lanes on Sloane Avenue

The Issue

I live on Sloane Avenue in the beautiful Victoria Village area.  Over the past several years, traffic on Sloane Avenue is becoming horrendous, and the proposed addition of bicycle lanes will exacerbate the issue. As a long-time resident, I have firsthand experience of the congestion and frustration faced by the community. The introduction of bike lanes will not solve our traffic concerns - but instead will compound them, creating additional bottlenecks and increasing travel times for everyone.
The decision to implement bike lanes on Sloane Avenue seems like a misplaced priority, one that does not consider the unique requirements of the Victoria Village community. Sloane Avenue already has a high volume of vehicles, including school buses and TTC vehicles. Reducing road space in favour of bicycles is impractical and senseless and will only benefit a few at the expense of many.

Taxpayer dollars should be used more prudently, improving infrastructure where it benefits the majority of residents. Instead of pouring money into a system that not many have requested and that few will use, if at all, these funds could be directed towards maintaining existing roads and enhancing public transportation options.

Please sign this petition to urge our local council and the City of Toronto  to halt the implementation of bike lanes on Sloane Avenue. Together, we can push for development that genuinely benefits our community and ensures smoother, safer streets for all residents.
