Stop the Ban on Flamin' Hot Cheetos, Doritos, and Takis in California Public Schools

Stop the Ban on Flamin' Hot Cheetos, Doritos, and Takis in California Public Schools
The Issue
For years, Flamin' Hot Cheetos, Doritos, and Takis have been a part of our school snack time. Just like any other normal day, I, along with my fellow students and parents protest against unjust banning of these snacks in California Public Schools enacted under Assembly Bill 2316, led by Assemblymember Jesse Gabriel. This bill has removed important choices that we as students should be allowed to make.
We understand concerns about healthy eating, but at the same time, it is important to recognize student's rights to personal choices. Banning these snacks won't necessarily encourage healthier habits, but will rather create a culture of clandestine snacking. We believe in the importance of teaching students about nutrition and encouraging healthy choices instead of enforcing them through bans.
It is also important to recognize the economic impact of these snack bans. According to IRI market research, the sales of spicy flavored snacks like Flamin' Hot Cheetos and Takis have grown by 5.2% over the past year, indicating that they are an important part of school revenue.
We, students and parents alike, urge you to reconsider this ban and to work towards solutions that both encourage healthy habits and respect student choices. We say no to Assembly Bill 2316. Let us reclaim the right to enjoy our favorite snacks. Please sign this petition and support us in our protest against this unjust ban. Shame on you Jesse Gabriel!
