Stop the Article V Convention Before It Destroys Our Rights and Our Country
Most people have never heard of an Article V Constitutional Convention.
And yet we are standing at its doorstep.
If 34 state legislatures call for it, a convention will be triggered — and once it begins, there are no limits on what can be changed, removed, rewritten, or destroyed.
Most Americans don’t realize how the Convention is triggered. The public does not vote on whether the convention happens at all.
If 34 state legislatures pass resolutions calling for a convention — even different resolutions on different issues — Congress is required to issue the invitation. The convention opens automatically.
No national vote. No public oversight. No way to stop it once it starts.
Many good, honest people believe a Convention of States would give power “back to the people.”
But that belief is painfully — and dangerously — wrong.
The public does not vote at an Article V convention.
We do not choose the delegates.
We do not control their actions.
And once the convention is gaveled in, nothing can stop it from taking apart the Constitution itself.
This is not a democratic gathering.
It is not a discussion among citizens.
It is a political convention controlled by state legislatures, powerful donors, and groups who already have pre-written amendments ready to go.
And every right we have — every protection people fought and died for — is suddenly on the table.
A convention could:
weaken or remove voting protections
eliminate environmental safeguards
redefine free speech
alter or weaken independent courts
change election rules
restrict civil liberties
rewrite entire sections of the Constitution
or dismantle the Bill of Rights
And the American people would have no voice in any of it.
We are closer to this than most realize.
More than 20 states have already passed resolutions calling for a convention, and the public has been kept in the dark about the risk.
This is not a left issue or a right issue.
It is an American issue — because the Constitution belongs to all of us, and its fate must never be decided behind closed doors by a handful of appointed delegates.
We must tell our lawmakers:
Reject all Article V convention resolutions
Inform the public of the real dangers
Defend the Constitution we have, instead of gambling with the future
Protect the rights and freedoms we cannot afford to lose
The Constitution is our inheritance.
It is the promise of liberty passed down through generations.
We cannot stand by while it is handed over to those who see it as something to reshape in their own image.
This petition asks you to stand with truth, with clarity, and with the people of this nation.
Sign below to stop an Article V convention — while we still can.
