Stop the abuse of athletes in professional sports!
The Issue
hi! my name is Alex, I am an honor student and also an all-star cheerleader, figure skater, and dancer. seeing an uprise in abuse in these sports has shocked me, as we have never really done anything to continue to save the sports. these sports are some kids lives outside of school and assist them with mental battles.
some examples...
Navarro college cheerleading scandals - Navarro was pointed out for sexual assault and rape, Aswell as unsafe training times and rules. Navarro also used to train in high temperatures with no breaks, where some athletes puked and passed out.
Eteri T Russian figure skating - Eteri was called out for abuse / drug use on her skaters at the 2022 Olympics, where Alexandra Trusova was caught in second place after being told by Eteri "she would win." Alexandra soon after swapped coaches. Along with, Anna Scherbakova with 1st place, but her technique was highly dangerous to be performed in. Finally, Kamila Valieva, she was caught using drugs during the 2022 Olympics which fell into her downfall, where it was later shown that it was Eteri, not Kamila.
Cheer Extreme Allstars Kville - CEA (or cheer extreme) was called out for mold, rats, and unsafe procedures not up to code for athletes in the building. Many athletes end up leaving or backing out of the gym with drug use reports, or rape reports.
we can fix these...
Looking at coaches' backgrounds quite thoroughly can assist, but also making sure the programs holding these issues no longer exist or run in an unsafe manner like this. Keeping athletes safe should be the top priority, not training to unsafe matters.
Making sure coaches are evaluated before any competition for drug usage or drugs on hand, providing notes that issue drugs given to athletes or carried.
Making sure buildings are up to code 24/7 and not being ignored when signs of unsafe procedures are living.
Please help us get our sports back, because they may fall if these issues continue.
