Expose Maskpark: Demand Global Action Against China’s Secret Voyeurism Network

Tens of thousands of women in China have fallen victim to secret filming, harassment, and the online sharing of non-consensual images — known as the “Maskpark” scandal.

Using hidden cameras disguised as daily objects like air purifiers, cups, and tissue boxes, countless women — even minors — have been filmed without their knowledge. These images are shared in private Telegram groups with over 900,000 members, where participants mock, rate, and sexualize victims.

This incident bears disturbing similarities to the infamous “Nth Room” case in South Korea. It reflects a deep-rooted crisis of digital misogyny, abuse of technology, and violation of privacy and bodily autonomy.

 

We call for urgent international attention. We urge:

UN Women and international human rights groups to publicly condemn this abuse
Global media to report on the Maskpark scandal
Cross-border cooperation to investigate and dismantle these networks
Stronger digital rights protection for women
