Stop Supreme Court's Order On Aravali hills for mining

Stop Supreme Court's Order On Aravali hills for mining
The Issue
The Aravali Hills are my home—their serene landscapes, lush forests, and biodiversity have always been integral to our community and environment. It's disheartening and shocking to hear that the Supreme Court has ordered the destruction of this precious ecosystem for mining purposes. The Aravali Hills, not just in Haryana and Rajasthan but across the Indian subcontinent, play a crucial role in maintaining ecological balance.
The Aravali range is one of the oldest mountain ranges in India, known for its rich flora and fauna, which are vital for maintaining biodiversity. Moreover, the forests in Aravali act as crucial carbon sinks, absorbing pollutants and providing fresh air to millions of people. This range is a natural barrier against desertification, preventing the desert sands of Rajasthan from encroaching further into fertile plains.
Mining activities will result in irreversible damage, causing deforestation, loss of habitat for countless species, and severe air and water pollution that will affect millions of people relying on its resources. Destroying these hills for short-term industrial gain will lead to long-term environmental degradation, which we cannot afford at this critical time.
The Supreme Court's decision prioritizes commercial interests over environmental preservation and neglects the sustainable development goals India strives for. We need to urge the authorities to reconsider this order and explore sustainable alternatives that allow economic development without sacrificing our invaluable environmental resources.
Please sign this petition to stand against the destruction of the Aravali Hills and demand the preservation of this indispensable ecosystem for the future of our planet and generations to come.
