I have always believed in the importance of creating and fostering communities where safety is paramount, and equity flourishes. However, the reality we live in often sees these ideals compromised by structural violence, manifesting in various forms. One significant form is through censorship policies that systematically hinder the open exchange of ideas, stifle dissent, and ultimately maintain inequality.

Structural violence, sometimes invisible, invades societies insidiously and disproportionately affects marginalized groups. When voices are silenced or dismissed, entire communities are denied the opportunity to express their needs, aspirations, and concerns—hampering progress towards equity and justice.

Censorship policies are designed, ostensibly, to maintain societal order and protect individuals from harm. It is time for our leaders to reevaluate these policies, adopting more transparent, equitable guidelines that protect individuals' rights to express their ideas without fear of retribution.
