Stop Stealing our Streets - Multi Resident Re-Zoning on Family Streets

Stop Stealing our Streets - Multi Resident Re-Zoning on Family Streets
The Issue
In December 2019 at the time of Covid stress and disruption, a rezoning of 724, 726 and 728 55th Ave SW. was approved. This street is currently only single family residences. The rezoning is part of a larger city hall plan to increase urban density and they could steal your street too.
The application has now been made for a proposed development of a 39 unit building DP2022-07624. We need to stand up for our communities, families and neighbours.
55th Ave hits Elbow Drive at a set of lights. Many use 55th as a route to get through Windsor Park. Streets further south have multi unit buildings and as a result, are packed with cars. We need clear routes for traffic. Streets that are not packed with parked cars from multi unit builds that NEVER put in enough parking for their residents.
Please join all of us concerned Calgarians who treasure our neighbourhoods and do not want thoughtless urban density. We know some kind of urban density will happen, but a thoughtful and well planned approach is the best way to ensure efforts do not cause other urban issues.
