🚨 URGENT UPDATE: On February 6, SSR4GC filed a Lis Pendens in federal court connected to our active lawsuit, and the next critical step is recording it with the Washoe County Recorder’s Office. Once officially recorded, the property title is formally clouded, any potential buyer is placed on legal notice, and the land is protected while litigation proceeds. We are currently in a strong procedural position and awaiting the court’s appointment of counsel. We have two options: file online today (requires the $43 filing fee plus a small processing fee) or obtain a ride Monday and file in person (requires the $43 filing fee). If we cannot raise the $43, I will have to wait until my next Social Security payment to cover it personally. In full transparency, I have logged over 500 unpaid hours on this effort, no direct donations have been received for legal costs, the only contributions so far went toward Change.org petition promotion, and I am currently over $1,000 out of pocket advancing this case—more than my entire monthly disability benefit. This work is unpaid and done because I believe our water, our valley, and our future matter. If you would like to help cover the $43 recording fee, you can send via Venmo @jetteporrazzo or directly at https://venmo.com/jetteporrazzo (you do not need a Venmo account to send), and please note “Lis Pendens Recording” in the memo line. If the full amount is raised, any excess will go directly toward documented court filing and litigation costs in this case. If you prefer to assist with transportation Monday, please email legal@ssr4gc.org. Once the $43 is raised and the lis pendens is recorded, I will immediately post confirmation so everyone knows this protection is in place.
