📢 Major Campaign Update: Legal Action Filed — Coalition Membership & Evidence Needed Now
Hi everyone — thank you for your patience and continued support. This update is comprehensive because the moment we are in matters.
Over the past several weeks, I have been working quietly, deliberately, and nonstop behind the scenes to protect the land, water, and community interests at the heart of this petition. To date, I have personally contributed more than 500 hours of unpaid time to research, records review, filings, and coordination to ensure this matter was properly brought before the courts before irreversible decisions could be made.
⚖️ Federal Legal Action Filed
A federal lawsuit was formally filed on January 6, 2026 at 1:37 PM, prior to the January 6 Planning Commission meeting, and the County has now been officially notified.
As part of this action, a lis pendens has been recorded on the parcels involved in the proposed development. In plain terms, this means the land is now legally tied up in court and cannot be sold, transferred, or advanced while the case is pending. This preserves the status quo and prevents backdoor movement while the court reviews the issues raised.
U.S. District Court – District of Nevada
Case No. 3:26-cv-00006-ART-CLB
The case is currently in the pre-service phase, which means it has been filed and docketed and service on defendants will proceed through the court as required. We are also awaiting the court’s assignment of an attorney to represent the case.
🪶 Tribal Coordination
The Washoe Tribe has been kept informed of the progress and current status. I have stood in the gap and held the line to ensure this matter was handled carefully, lawfully, and with respect for cultural, environmental, and community concerns.
📍 Who This Affects
This matter directly affects residents, landowners, and water users in the following ZIP codes:

89521 (South Reno / Pleasant Valley)
89511 (Galena / Steamboat / Foothills)
If you live in or rely on resources in these areas, this case affects you.
🧩 Coalition Membership Is Now Critical
Signing the petition shows support — but it is no longer enough.
As this case moves toward class-based claims involving a protected class, individuals must be formally documented and organized to be included.
👉 Register as a coalition member now:

Coalition membership is how individuals are:
documented as part of the protected class
included for class-action consideration
kept informed through official legal updates
represented once counsel is appointed
Petition signatures alone do not establish inclusion as the case proceeds.
🔎 Call for Evidence — January 6 Planning Commission Meeting
We are now formally compiling the evidentiary record related to the January 6, 2026 Planning Commission meeting.
If you attended the meeting, submitted public comment, reviewed staff reports, or possess any documents, recordings, notes, photographs, emails, expert materials, or other evidence supporting points raised at that meeting, now is the time to submit them.
This includes, but is not limited to:
written public comments
meeting notes or contemporaneous records
staff reports or attachments
environmental, water, traffic, or cultural impact materials
correspondence with county staff or commissioners
audio or video recordings
photographs, maps, or exhibits
Please send all supporting materials to:
