I'm a Junior in college and I work part-time at a chain restaurant. I've noticed that during my 2 years there, SO many single-use, plastic "to-go" containers get sold just to get thrown out within a couple of hours. They're seemingly not even recyclable either!

Since I've started working there, I'd say tens of thousands of these plastic single-use containers have been sold and thrown out. Hundreds of these things are sold a day. With online ordering and delivery of food becoming more prevalent, these plastic containers and their sale is rampant from what I've seen.

I thought to myself that so much plastic is sold within the chain restaurant industry and I wanted to rack up support that could possibly insight some change and scrutiny on big businesses that produce so much and cause so much pollution. I want to send the results of this to my state senator (NY). Maybe it can be a start to banning more plastic junk. The plastic bag ban in my state was pretty successful. I think this can be another step in the right direction.
