Stop Self-Service Speeding Fines
To: Tamworth Regional Council

We, the undersigned, call on Tamworth Regional Council to abandon its Speed Camera Honesty Box and return speeding fines to a full-service model.

Australians already scan their own groceries, bag their own purchases, enter their own produce codes and return their own trolleys.

We should not also be expected to pull over, photograph our own number plates, calculate our own fines and place the fine in an unsecured roadside bucket.

If we are paying hundreds of dollars for a speeding fine, the least the government can do is issue it themselves.

Speed cameras were invented to photograph motorists without their cooperation. Let them do their jobs.

Self-service has gone too far.

If the council wants our money, it can at least come and get it.
