Stop SB3 – Protect Texas Cannabis Reform and Fair Penalties

The Issue

We, the undersigned, urge Governor Greg Abbott and the Texas Legislature to reject SB3 in its current form. This bill threatens to:

Disrupt an $8 billion legal cannabis industry in Texas that is already creating jobs and generating tax revenue.

Increase penalties for simple cannabis possession, including up to 1 year in jail for minor infractions like possessing a single joint.

These harsh changes do not reflect the will of most Texans, who support sensible cannabis reform—not increased incarceration for non-violent offenses.

Instead of criminalizing more people, we should focus our resources on violent crime, and provide a clear legal and regulatory path for cannabis products like THCA and Delta-8, which are already sold legally by thousands of Texas businesses.

Governor Abbott, many of us voted for you and support conservative values—but this issue matters. We ask you to send SB3 back for revision.

Texas deserves better. We urge you to stand with Texans, not against them.
