The Issue

After realizing our lifelong vision by purchasing ideal property to establish a community-based non-profit farm in Fannin County, we were devastated to witness acres of neighboring trees being felled to pave the way for a sand and gravel mine.  This aggressive and invasive practice threatens our agricultural pursuits, as well as our cherished lifestyle. The continuance of sand and gravel mining endangers our drinking water, the well-being of local wildlife, and the purity of our air—in essence, it endangers our community.

Moreover, it's well-established that sand and gravel mining can disrupt ecosystems, causing soil erosion and affecting water quality, with potential health impacts for local communities (US EPA). This form of extraction also contributes to noise and dust pollution, diminishing the quality of life for nearby residents (UNEP). The tranquility and pristine nature of our region, which so many relocate here to enjoy, is under siege due to these mining activities.

It's time for us to stand up for our community and preserve our cherished environment and way of life. We earnestly implore you to take action by signing our petition to cease sand and gravel mining activities in Mulberry, Texas and the wider Fannin county area. Your signature can help us protect our home from further degradation. Please, sign and share this petition today.
