Now, Rhetson Companies, Inc. proposes the rezoning of about 3.90 acres of land on State Road 844/Mount Cross Road, identified by GPIN #'s 1480-00-6563 and 1480-00-8483, to allow for the development of a retail business. This development could deeply affect the tranquil lifestyle we cherish.

The proposed retail site is in close proximity to an intersection at Mount Cross Road and Tunstall High Road that already experiences significant traffic issues. The introduction of a new retail business could exacerbate these traffic problems, leading to increased congestion and potential safety hazards, especially for local residents and students commuting to Tunstall High School.

For years, a small country store (Mills Grocery) has effectively served our community's needs, providing convenience without contributing to the traffic woes or altering our countryside charm. Moreover, there's already a Dollar General just 4 miles away, adequately covering any additional retail needs without disturbing our peaceful environment.

Rezoning of this land would not only disrupt the local traffic flow but would also alter the character of our community. The quiet and rural charm that initially attracted us to this area would be at risk. Protecting our local environment from unnecessary commercial expansion is crucial for maintaining the quality of life we have all come to value.
