Stop Reddit from banning accounts site wide

Stop Reddit from banning accounts site wide

The Issue

I really want to get this off my chest because I think something needs to be done about this.

I'm a 19 year old content creator, and I've used Reddit for over a year as a way to connect with others, and also share my interests with people that may like it in different communities. I had an account which I started using in September of 2025, but on April 22nd, I received a notification on my count saying I was temporarily banned for 7 days, for apparently breaking one of the guideline rules regarding violence. Which I wasn't aware of at all about what I did. So I didn't really think much of it and just accepted the ban which was originally a week. But then on April 26th, my account received a notifications saying I was permanently banned. And as you can imagine I was absolutely devastated because that account meant so much to me especially being a content creator who just wants to connect with people and share the interests like I do with them. I then deleted the account, but not knowing about the whole appealing thing which looking back I'm honestly kicking myself. But now every time I create a new account they keep getting banned within a few hours, or days.

I think it's beyond frustrating, because it just seems like everything on Reddit is based around AI, which makes it even more difficult to create an account, after getting banned. And it's really hard for me because that app is literally everything in terms of connecting with people. And I just think it's absolutely ridiculous people like me are constantly getting banned just for creating a new account after getting banned on the first one. I honestly think they should get rid of this whole banning site wide thing, because the majority of people don't ever have intentions of seeking violence, and the ones you don't mean any harm should be allowed to create an account as long as you follow the rules and guidelines. Previous account history shouldn't matter in my eyes because as long as you be civil and respectful there shouldn't be any issues.

If you agree with me, please sign this petition so Reddit can take a look at this. Because I don't think it's fair at all on people who get banned site wide for necessarily no reason or saying something without the intention or context of that thing they get "banned".
