Stop R20

Stop R20
The Issue
Our homes, our families, our rural life in Robertson County are under threat. We are the residents, the custodians of the tranquil farm lands that have nurtured generations of our families, yet we now face a grim prospect: potential R20 zoning of our precious 6050 New Cut Road.
This is not simply a zoning issue—it's a fight for our rural heritage, our environment, and our lifestyle. The proposed change is not in line with Urban Growth Boundaries—it's an intrusion on our rural life way. It comes without the necessary infrastructure enhancements to support the transition.
Maintaining the rural character plays a vital role in the health of our county, both for our families and for the generations to come. It's important to mention that according to a study by the American Farmland Trust, for every dollar of revenue raised by rural residential properties, the local government incurred $1.16 in related public service costs. In contrast, for every dollar of revenue raised by farm properties, the government incurred only 34 cents in costs (American Farmland Trust, 2016).
The rezoning of 6050 New Cut Road threatens not only the integrity of our rural community, but also its economic sustainability. Let's veto this zoning change and save our farm lands, preserving them for our families, not for unnecessary development.
Please join our cause by signing the petition, it is but a start to stopping the R20 zoning. Remember: we're fighting for our homes, our families, and for the rural life that defines us.
