The PDCA was announced in 1991 by Major and Margaret Thatcher was the first former prime minister to benefit from it.

The government says the purpose of the allowance is to allow former PMs to still take an active part in public life.

I believe that Prime ministers who resign should NOT qualify for this allowance , in the current climate where many UK citizens are struggling due to the choices made by this government, it is not right that the people who have contributed to the shocking state of our economy benefit whilst the people struggle.
