This petition is against excessive and unnecessary acts of PDA committed by couples  on public metros and streets. These acts of PDA are disrespectful and negatively affect the well being of people. Just today I was on the metro and there were 2 incidents of PDA that happened about 2ft away from me.

First, PDA is disrespectful to people on public metros, today there were 2 couples that were excessively kissing and making out on the train and on the platforms. The couple on the platform was making out and being highly inappropriate in public. The other couple was on the metro and was 2ft away from me and they were full on making out. They almost touched me from the motion of the train. Also the sounds they made we’re some of the most revolting I’ve ever heard. That’s another reason to eliminate the excessive PDA. People with misophonia are negatively affected by PDA. Misophonia is an auditory disorder. Certain sounds trigger it, which has adverse affects on the individual. Kissing sounds are often a common trigger of this disorder, so it is especially disrespectful for people to do this in a crowded public area.

Second, children are around these people where they do PDA. These couples have no shame when it comes to doing PDA around small children. Children shouldn’t be exposed to people making out and shoving each others tongues down their throats in an area that’s supposed to be public. I don’t know why it’s so hard for people to understand that the train station isn’t their bedroom, and they have to be respectful of all people, but especially young children.

Third, PDA is low key disgusting and makes a lot of people uncomfortable. I’m sorry I don’t want to see you grope and tongue suck each other in the metro. Also, there was this one guy who smacked his girlfriend’s butt on the escalator in the mall. He wasn’t even discreet about it, he winded up and it made the loudest clapping sound. It was also in front of two children, but the thing that got me was after he did it, he turned around and gave me the most devious little grin. But it’s not just me that feels disrespected, many others all over the world have seen worse.

Overall, if you are an enjoyer of PDA please be mindful of others and show A LITTLE RESPECT. I don’t understand why people would want to plague the lives of others with their despicable acts of PDA.
