THIS WAS THE ORIGINAL PLAN SENT TO BAXTER RESIDENTS. NOW A HOUSING DEVELOPMENT THAT WILL BE A LOGISTICAL  NIGHTMARE TO THOSE WHO LIVE THERE.

Original proposal sent to Baxter Residents

Now the plan is to build 58 townhouses. This will have atleast two cars per townhouse. The traffic to Austral cres, Cerberus Rd and Lavender Lane will have an increase of up to 100 plus cars a day. Access to the new development will be through Lavender lane. Lavender lane is a narrow road which is very congested already with the residents parked cars. At times getting through can be difficult.

The land they plan on building on is seasonal wetlands with a creek that runs into Watson Creek. The surrounding farmland also flood and is home to endangered frogs.

This petition is to stop the destruction of this peaceful eco environment.  This proposed 58 Townhouses development is not only going to take away a home to our protected wildlife but its waste water will feed into Watsons Creek and into Westernports heritage listed green wedge.

The original plan regarding 40 Lavender Lane Baxter was to improve the seasonal wetlands with a picnic area and lake turning it into a place to enjoy for families and those using the bike track. (image of plan above)

During the diverting of the peninsula link the traffic increase to Sages road created a trafic gridlock. Add 100+ cars a day and it will be a logistical nightmare.

Sages rd is the only arterial to exit onto so unless lights are installed getting out will be a long wait.

This development is going to turn this area into a noisy, congested and unsafe estate.  The traffic is going to create danger for young children and potential damage to parked cars in an already tight narrow lane.

Another major issue is the road is very narrow making it difficult for emergency vehicles to get in and out of.  How will these service this new development if needed?

No consideration to the residences or our protected wildlife has been taken into account with this development. This petition will be taken to the appropriate authorities.
