Stop Proposed Construction of 200-Unit Affordable Housing Complex on Runyan Drive

Stop Proposed Construction of 200-Unit Affordable Housing Complex on Runyan Drive
The Issue
We are residents and friends of the Mountain Creek area who are concerned over the proposed construction of a 200-unit affordable living housing complex off of Runyan Drive. We firmly believe this is not an appropriate area for this project. Runyan Drive cannot accommodate athe influx of 200-400 residents.
We are familiar with the layout and needs of Mountain Creek. The proposed construction site, off of Runyan Drive, is ill-equipped for this influx of people. Our infrastructure, roads, sewage and water systems are not built to withstand the additional usage that 200-400 more residents would impose. We also fear the environmental impact that this proposed complex would have on our beloved Mountain Creek, disrupting the local ecosystem and causing irreversible damage.
Furthermore, there is concern over the ability of our existing emergency response and police protection to provide adequate relief for an additional 200-400 residents. Overcrowded neighborhoods often have a negative impact on emergency response due to increased demands and difficult working conditions.
Given these issues, we believe the project should be relocated to a more suitable area. An area that has the proper infrastructure, emergency response personnel, and police protection, as well as an area where it would not have such a negative impact on the environment.
Our plea is not against affordable housing or giving people a chance at a good life. Our concern lies in hosting such a project in an area which will not support the needs of its future residents. It's about the welfare of the current residents as well as the new residents, and keeping the overall community flourishing.
We appeal to you for your signature and support, to stand with us and halt the proposed construction. Together, let us advocate for a more appropriate location, one that would truly be ideal for everyone involved.
