The Issue
I and many of my fellow Indians have personally faced the unfair practices of BLS International when applying for consular services from the Indian Embassy in Canada. This experience was not only frustrating but also unjust. While the company offers premium services purportedly to speed up processes, it has become evident that these services are marketed at the expense of the regular options.
BLS International routinely finds minor errors or discrepancies in applications, such as writing 'ST' instead of 'Street' or using 'CAN' instead of 'Canada', even when both refer to the same place. They appear to exploit these minor mistakes as grounds for rejecting applications unless one opts for an expensive premium service. This practice effectively coerces applicants to purchase optional premium services that they claim will guarantee success.
This situation is detrimental to the many individuals who cannot afford these exaggerated costs nor have the expertise to navigate such a hostile application environment. Every applicant seeking consular services should be treated with fairness and respect, without unnecessary financial burdens.
We urge the Indian Embassy in Canada to reassess its contractual agreement with BLS International. It is time to call for transparency and accountability in the consular application process. They must ensure that normal services are sufficient and fair, or otherwise appoint a different company that embodies these values.
