OCC Highland Lakes is slated to close in 2025.  This is a vast property that has been enjoyed by the community for many many years and for many activities including hiking in the back woods, organized youth sports and outdoor concerts.

If sold to a developer, the possibility of a huge housing development would ravage this beautiful property of its trees and rolling green space. Also, creating major traffic congestion on an infrastructure that was not designed to handle a development of any magnitude. 

As concerned citizens of this community we would like to propose the preservation of this property as a community activities complex serving Oakland County. 

With endless possibilities for community enrichment, to include such things as: hiking and biking trails, sledding hill, challenge courses, baseball diamonds, soccer fields, indoor and outdoor tennis, pickle ball and basketball courts. Community Ed. classroom activities, concert hall, rental facilities, and so much more. 

Our immediate attention is necessary to notify Oakland County of our concerns and wishes to STOP any possibility of a sale to developers and the destruction of this property.
