STOP POLLARDS SOLAR FARM - SIGN the PETITION to save 201 acres of rural East Sussex.

STOP POLLARDS SOLAR FARM - SIGN the PETITION to save 201 acres of rural East Sussex.
The Issue
STOP POLLARDS SOLAR FARM. SIGN this PETITION to OBJECT to 201 acres of solar pv panels on rural East Sussex.
Save 201 acres of rural Sussex; a network of rolling fields and ancient hedgerows between Arlington, Upper Dicker, Berwick and Chalvington from being covered in solar pv panels by ScottishPower Renewables.
Pollards Farm is a network of small individual fields separated by established hedgerows and ancient oak trees. For years Pollards Farm has been managed and conserved by the Ian Askew Trust - balancing agricultural rotation of crops and grazing of sheep and cattle while supporting an environment rich in wildlife. Barn owls regularly hunt in these fields while many of the dew ponds support great crested newts. This unique patch of 201 acres of unspoilt rural Sussex landscape could soon be covered in thousands of PV solar panels.
We are not against renewable energy but the 'greenfield site' of Pollards Farm is not the place for these panels. These undulating fields are visible to the South Downs National Park and to the High Weald of Outstanding Natural Beauty. They nestle around the Scheduled Monument of Claverham Manor and within the 'sensitive zone' of Arlington Reservoir; a Site of Special Scientific Interest.
