Stop police and Narcissist’s from further victimising and preying on abuse survivors
The Issue
I was abused by a paedophile some years ago. When I finally gathered the courage to come forward and tell my story, he pled guilty, and I thought my ordeal was ending. However, to my dismay, others around me saw this as an opportunity to target me for abuse and attacks. Despite having these instances evaluated numerous times, I find myself victimised daily with unfounded claims of mental illness, false accusations, and threats. Shockingly, all of this is being held against me by the police, lawyers seem to be wallowing in the victims misfortune, dragging cases and their feet, seemingly deliberately, preventing me from rebuilding my career and life.
This is not just my story. Many victims of abuse face similar backlash and secondary victimisation, as police often claim such instances are not their jurisdiction. Yet, inexplicably, they seem to encourage this victimisation by dismissing our cries for help. The very institutions meant to protect us end up perpetuating the cycle of abuse.
The injustices faced by survivors are immense and complex, involving numerous twists and turns. It is time we demand change and call for the police to take our reports seriously and comprehensively investigate all allegations of harassment and abuse against survivors.
With a clear protocol in place, police forces can be properly guided and held accountable for providing the necessary protection without prejudice. We need mandatory training for officers to recognize the signs of ongoing abuse and psychological manipulation towards survivors, ensuring that individuals like myself are heard and protected.
Let us stand together to urge law enforcement agencies to adopt policies that prioritise the safety and well-being of abuse survivors rather than criminalising them further. By signing this petition, you contribute to building a justice system that truly supports and safeguards survivors of abuse. Please support this cause and bring justice and safety to those who, like me, have suffered enough. Sign the petition today and make your voice heard!
