Dear Concerned Pinehurst Residents,
As you know the week of June 10, 2024 we received a lot of rain due to a tropical rainstorm. The streets flooded, but once the storm ended, none of our communities continued to suffer flooding except for Pinehurst. Again.
The receivers at the entrance to Pinehurst are still bubbling out water that distributed flooding conditions on Pinehurst Greens Drive (20929-20921) and also on Pinehurst Greens Court (4511-4535). It is still bubbling out water today.
These conditions never existed before recent system modifications in Pelican Sound.
There were several meetings in 2022 with concerned residents of Pinehurst voicing their concern to RRCDD Charlie Krebs, P.E. and our GM Eric Long. The discussed plan was to lower water elevations in the dry detention areas that are causing the water to flow from the roadway inlets at the Corkscrew circle, clean up debris around the weirs, trenching for better drainage to the Estero River and maintenance inspection of drains. Even though some action was taken by RRCDD to improve this offsite overflow in Pinehurst, the same flooding occurrence is happening again. Drains had recently been checked and cleared in May 2024.
We need to exercise our rights. We need more people from Pinehurst to voice feelings about this, in a united manner. It is in our best interest to act on this as soon as possible. The next River Ridge CDD meeting will be held on June 25, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. in the Sound Room above the fitness center. Please plan to be there or sign the petition below which will be send to River Ridge.
