Stop paper leaks in India with secured computer-based testing

Stop paper leaks in India with secured computer-based testing
The Issue
As a Class 9 student in India, I have witnessed firsthand the overwhelming dedication my seniors put into preparing for their exams. They sacrifice their social lives and extracurricular activities, spending countless hours studying, in the hopes of securing a better future. However, the recurring issue of paper leaks is shattering their dreams and efforts overnight. When a paper leaks, it doesn't just disrupt the exam—it destroys all the hard work, causing immense stress and anxiety not only for the students but for their entire families.
It's heart-wrenching to see honest and diligent students lose their motivation and self-confidence due to the apathy and negligence that allow these paper leaks to happen. The consequences are far-reaching, affecting mental health, academic integrity, and future prospects. It is neither fair nor just for the students who genuinely put in the effort, only to see their results invalidated due to someone else's unethical actions.
To address this pressing issue, we need to transition from the traditional exam system to a 100% secured Computer-Based Testing (CBT) model across India. Secure CBT has been successfully implemented in many countries and offers several advantages over pen-and-paper exams. It reduces the chances of paper leaks as exams are stored digitally with advanced security protocols. Moreover, CBT enhances the efficiency of the examination process, allowing for more transparent and prompt assessments.
While some might argue that a complete digital shift is challenging due to infrastructure and resources, it's important to note that investing in a secure CBT system is an investment in India's future. We can start by piloting the system in well-equipped regions and gradually expanding to ensure all regions have the necessary facilities. Furthermore, setting up training programs for educators and students to adapt to digital platforms will be an essential step in this transition.
By signing this petition, you are advocating for a fair and transparent examination system that ensures every student's hard work is respected and preserved. Let's protect our future by eliminating paper leaks and embracing a secure and efficient digital testing method. Sign the petition to support a transition to 100% Computer-Based Testing in India.
