Stop Overdevelopment of 12124 Pacific Ave. behind Mar Vista Post Office

Stop Overdevelopment of 12124 Pacific Ave. behind Mar Vista Post Office
The Issue
We object to the proposed 6 story apartment building (74 units, 122 parking spots) at 12124 Pacific Ave, Los Angeles 90066, behind the Mar Vista Post Office. We are not against another low income housing development in the neighborhood, but ask that it be more in line with the existing neighborhood's needs and limitations.
Because Pacific Ave. is a very small street this huge influx of residents would have an extremely negative impact, on the already over burdened street's parking and traffic. Pacific Ave. residents have already absorbed more than their fair share of large projects in Mar Vista. This same block (facing Venice Blvd.) has the Post Office, Library, Fire Station, and just around the corner two Elementary Schools, a new giant low income Apartment Building and a Lumber Yard. All, but the library and apartment, use large trucks or buses on Pacific Ave. and surrounding streets 24 hours a day.
This new building would face the loading dock of the Mar Vista Post Office, which is a problem for the post office because the large postal trucks that back into this loading dock, at all hours of the day and night, already struggle to line up their trucks to back into this loading dock, as the trucks barely fit (see image).
Fire Station 62 has also voiced concerns about increasing traffic on Pacific Ave. as they use it to avoid traffic on Venice Blvd. and more traffic could delay their response to emergency calls.
Sundays the Mar Vista farmers market blocks Pacific Ave. at Grandview Blvd. leaving only Inglewood Blvd. and Keeshen Dr. as exits.
The builders have suggested that they would try to get parking permits for the neighborhood, but permits can only be done in 6 blocks, so the permit parking would include the proposed 6 story building, it's 150+ residents and their guests.
Because of all these impacts on the existing community please sign to let the city know our neighborhood cannot abide this project going forward in it's current plan.
