A article is out about the Town Board’s Melville rezoning proposal: numbers show that developers will be able to build up to 40,000 apartments! That means tens of thousands of more people and tens of thousands of more cars on our roads!

There is no way any proposal like this should go forward prior to an outside, professional consulting firm with experience in urban planning performing an Environmental Impact Statement as required by SEQRA. It’s the law —  and common sense — that you can’t propose a massive project like this without an analysis of the impact on the community!
