Stop Overdevelopment at 64 Harmony Road – Oppose Planning Application PA2601998

Stop Overdevelopment at 64 Harmony Road – Oppose Planning Application PA2601998
The Issue
We, the undersigned, strongly object to planning application PA2601998 for the construction of two two-bedroom houses in the rear garden of 64 Harmony Road, .
This proposed development raises serious concerns among local residents and would have a negative impact on the character and livability of the area.
Key concerns include:
Parking pressure: Harmony Road already experiences limited parking availability. Adding two additional dwellings will significantly increase demand, worsening congestion and inconvenience for residents.
Highway safety and traffic: The site is located within a cul-de-sac, where increased vehicle movements will create safety risks for pedestrians, children, and existing residents.
Loss of privacy: The proposed houses would overlook neighbouring properties, resulting in an unacceptable invasion of privacy for surrounding homes and gardens.
Overshadowing and loss of light: The scale and positioning of the development risk blocking natural light to nearby properties, reducing residential amenity.
Out of character development: Building additional houses in a back garden represents overdevelopment and is not in keeping with the established pattern and character of Harmony Road.
We urge to carefully consider these material planning concerns and refuse planning permission for this application.
We also encourage all residents to submit formal objections via the Cornwall Council planning portal, quoting reference PA2601998.
