Stop Organizations from Eliminating Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Programs

The Issue

As an African American woman who identifies as gay, I have been greatly benefited by Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) programs offered by organizations. These initiatives have given me an equal space to work and live. Now, I fear these very programs are under threat as some U.S. organizations are considering getting rid of them.

Let us consider that in 2020, businesses with diverse management teams reported 19% higher revenue due to innovation (Boston Consulting Group Study, 2020). This clearly shows that these programs boost innovation and profitability. Moreover, an inclusive work culture promotes staff retention and productivity, as per the McKinsey "Delivering through Diversity" report (2018). Abolishing these programs is a step backward and disregards the proven benefits of diversity.

Therefore, I urge everyone to join this plea to boycott U.S. organizations that are eliminating their DEI programs. All organizations should uphold their commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. Stand together with me in this fight, lend your voice in this demand for equal rights and opportunities.
