In just a few months, our neighborhoods have turned into deadly traps. The recent tragic death of 20-year-old Hamza Ibrahim Sarkar and the loss of 19-year-old Aariz Shaikh earlier this year have shattered our community. These weren't just accidents; they were entirely preventable tragedies waiting to happen.

Every single day, narrow residential streets meant for local commuters are flooded with speeding heavy vehicles like dumper trucks, ready-mix concrete trucks, and water tankers during peak hours when students and children are out on the roads.

To make matters worse, our emergency system is failing when it matters most. During these crashes, victims have had to wait agonizingly long periods for ambulances to arrive because of traffic gridlock and poor medical response coordination. Every single minute wasted costs a life.

We are tired of empty promises and temporary police crackdowns right after a tragedy, only for things to go back to normal a week later.

We demand immediate, permanent action from the Pune Municipal Corporation, Pune Traffic Police, and local authorities:

1. A strict daytime ban on heavy commercial vehicles (dumpers, RMC trucks, heavy tankers) on our residential stretches between 7 AM and 10 PM.
2. Proper speed-control measures, rumble strips, and functional CCTV cameras installed immediately at critical spots like Raheja Circle, Vista Chowk, and the Cloud 9 stretch.
3. Dedicated, on-call emergency medical infrastructure and faster ambulance dispatch protocols so victims get immediate help instead of bleeding out in traffic.
