Stop New Apartment Buildings in East Brunswick

The Issue

Living in East Brunswick has become increasingly challenging due to the rapid development of new apartment buildings. What used to take just 20 minutes to get on the NJ turnpike for work commute, now takes as long as 40+ minutes due to the unbearable traffic congestion. My neighbor's daughter is forced to learn in an outdoor trailer because our schools are overflowing, with student-to-teacher ratios that are unacceptable. She receives minimal attention from our overstretched teachers.

East Brunswick's charm is rooted in its community feel and the balance of green spaces that differentiate it from urban sprawl. Our town is at a critical juncture. With more apartment buildings, we risk transforming this beloved area into a concrete jungle, infringing upon the very essence of what makes East Brunswick unique and liveable.

Evidence shows that the infrastructure in place cannot support further development without severe consequences. According to the U.S. Census, East Brunswick's population has been steadily increasing, putting a strain on local amenities, schools, and roads. Residents face longer commutes, increased traffic, and diminished quality of life.

We urge local officials to implement a moratorium on new apartment construction until comprehensive studies can assure us and future generations of sustainable development.

Join us in preserving the identity, livability, and quality of life in East Brunswick. Sign this petition to protect our community from overdevelopment and its dire consequences.
