Rogers wants to build a massive, 300 ft tower at Goodale Marine , 2819 hwy#118(and Milne Rd), Bracebridge.  This tower will be obtrusive, completely visually unavoidable from anywhere nearby and impactful on our property values. 

This tower would be built literally on top of my neighbour's home (lights flashing in their children's bedroom windows at night) and everyone is concerned about the negative health impacts from the wireless radiation exposure including cancers. **WE DO NOT NEED A TOWER for two reasons:

 1.  Bell is already installing fibre optic service around our lake which is the fastest and most dependable option and provides safer alternatives to cell towers because fibre does not emit radiation.

2.  Rogers just announced in December successful satellite-to-cell phone calling that they will roll-out across Canada in 2024.  With "SMS texting and mass notifications and then expanding to voice and data.” “…A spokesperson for the company said the services will be available only to Rogers customers, but everyone will have access to 911, even if their provider doesn’t have service in the area.”*****

DANGERS AND LIABILITIES:  There is a newly approved snow cross track going in on the site at Goodale Marine. The dangers and safety concerns for children and adults participating in high speed sporting activity at the base of a tower are significant, especially when there will be guy wires/cables spread out over the entire area to secure the tower.

LIABILITIES if people begin to get sick over time?  Who will pay for this??  In addition, the World Health Organization's International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) classified radiofrequency electromagnetic fields as possibly carcinogenic to humans (Group 2B). Hundreds of studies (the ones not funded by telecom) indicate the potential negative health impacts associated with living close to cell towers.  Rogers has not been able to show any scientific, peer reviewed evidence that exposure is absolutely safe, but they casually claim there is no harm:  www.youtube.com/watch?v=LqPJxyeDqYo

We urge decision-makers to reconsider this plan and prioritize public safety over technological advancement in our rural community that doesn't need it and doesn't want it.
