The economy is the number one aspect in the societal context in which the mining industry in Brgy. Don Andres Soriano (DAS)-Lutopan, Toledo City, Cebu, Philippines, has kept on operating and providing some benefits to the people of the entire country, especially in the city where it is located. Infrastructural Progress and Economic Development are the top priorities to help the entire society. However, if our natural habitat is compromised because of it or if so many relevant things are abused just for that unjustifiable cause, it is highly unacceptable in the rights and eyes of nature—as we could see from its plenty of images of aftermath and catastrophe that may occur in no time.

The main issue I face, and on behalf of my co-anxious townmates, as representative and advocate for the defense of nature, is that almost all over the green mountains and trees vanish from the face of the earth, which absolutely destroys nature’s life in the entire city and, as a negative result, devastates the smoothness of the streets and the natural beauty of the western portion of the town, most particularly the people affected whose vicinity is the Mining Company—Carmen Copper Corporation (CCC). Moreover, I, Perchvil V. Bacla-an, strongly disagree with this way of helping the people, which jeopardizes our Nature. We declare and protest a STOP! For the Mining Expansion operation, starting from the deepest quarrying and extending towards the farthest place, the miners and high-ranking people have a plan to destroy nature. I, myself without any consideration to my fear of predetermined actions against by the Government Officials against me, do not care and giving any attention to such life and safety attempt they will impose against me which may lie ahead as my expectation after I posted this in the Change.org Social Media Petition Signing Platform as I do not give any care with what this company even they were approved and legitimately permitted by the government herein the Philippines because Supporting Evidences and Documents are void and nulled when our Nature will complain to know that those are all cannot help if the Province of Cebu will be torn apart so as to help the people living in the area and to the entire human being of the whole world which we totally depend on the fruits and splendor of the nature’s freshness as a gift from God. 

Noting the fact that we are granted with the Government of the Democratic Republic and in our Law that we all have the freedom to express, I have the right to speak up and defend the rights of nature to live because, just like us, if we are abused by someone, we will eventually respond and complain about it or even get angry because we all have emotions, just like in our nature, as a concrete resemblance of reflection.

For instance, one time in the city’s sub-district or the barangay of Brgy. Cantabaco, where it is located directly below the Mining Area or Quarried Mountains, was deluged with flash floods just for one month when there were several days of rainfall. The sub-district is deluged with flash floods like it had been deluged with oceans of water and filled with muddy tartar-like sands overflowed from the Mining Site, and people suffer so much from the consequences of the mining operation.

With all of the world, your so much Sincerity and Heart-breaking love, I am begging and pleading all of you including most especially Calling all the ears and hearts of the Government Officials to listen to my plea both from International Tribunal and United Nations on Environment, Philippine National Government, and Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR). I am shouting gently with my voice to your hearts, and my voice is an ambassador for Nature and Nature Advocates. I am really in deep concern and highly saddened due to our fast-dying Nature and vast-killing Environment. Please do remember the ancient Latin Cliché, a renowned Biblical Word, "Vox Populi, Vox Dei!" which translates in English as "The Voice of the People is the Voice of God!"

In this problematic adversity of our Nature Abuse, I all of you challenge, exhort, and encourage you to care for and love our nature and environment immediately and to give a lasting heart to our environment. We will not abandon our Nature or abuse it anymore. Do remember that we only have the right to become stewards and the duty to subdue the earth and not to misuse and destroy it; only God has the right! It is just because of the Greed for Money that we all have this environmental concern, but as a final quest for you to take and respond, I ask you this question: "If we will not give and take any action, then who will?" We must solve this now! If we choose "NEVER", then we let ourselves die forever!
