Stop Mayor Hill/City Of Tallassee From Blocking Safe Access To Our Home

The Issue

Mayor Hill is attempting to barricade access to our home. This home has been in my husband’s family for 45+ years. After his nanny (Sue Creamer) & papa (Jr Creamer) passed away we purchased the property. From the very beginning the back yard was used as the primary parking as it offers a safer entrance and exit vs the front which is extremely close to a main roadway in Tallasse. Emergency personnel i.e fire trucks, ambulance etc would have an impossible task getting into the driveway from the front; (tight quarters, curves & excessive speeding). For over 45 years our family has used the cemetery loop which meets our rear driveway to enter and park in the back yard. Ms. Hill has now mailed us 2 letter to immediately stop using the loop to access our back yard. She has made us move our kids basketball goal that was on our property to another location in the back yard. She has made claims that because of us using the cemetery loop that we are causing considerable damage to the road way. I have pulled pictures with google earth from 2023 where the dirt road has damage and is washing away from rain, not what Ms.Hill is implying. In addition to that statement from Ms. Hill she claimed the unpaved part of the loop is a service road for funerals, maintenance and family’s to visit loved one but in the same letter stated it’s not for public use. We are extremely respectful when a funeral is held. We don’t not cause any issues for her to come at us like we are degenerates destroying the cemetery! What she meant to say was it’s not for us to use to access safe parking on our property! She stated that if we remove the barriers we would be handled appropriately. We just want to continue using the roadway into our back yard to park as we have and our entire family has for the past 45 years. We would like to gather as many signature as we can to stop her clear over reach! Please help us stop her from closing off the main entrance to our home! Thank you
