Stop making our school Chromebooks shut down when closed.

The Issue

On September 29th, 3:30 PM, Mr. Arnauer, the head of the tech department, sent out an email to all students, stating that "Every student must log off the Chromebook and log back in to start every school day" and that "This process will correctly connect the Chromebook to the proper WiFi network." The next day, he saw that no one was signing out, and he turned on a setting that makes Chromebooks turn off when their lid is shut. However, no one checks their email, especially not after school, so he basically didn't give us a chance to follow this rule.

In a follow-up email, he also stated that "On [the] 30th, our Tech Team received many emails, phone calls, and tech requests for Chromebook wireless issues. All were related to students not logging off and logging back on as the email below explained. ...We understand this will be frustrating to students but it is necessary." However, the force-logouts aren't helping WiFi connection issues; they're making them worse. Before, a quick way to reconnect to the WiFi was to close the Chromebook and open it again, but since this rule was put into place, that's been ruined. Also, the closing of Chromebooks is very annoying to students, and it takes a long time to sign back in every single time. We need to get rid of this rule.
