Macdonald’s is starting a Drive-Thru’ in Caltex Dunearn Road, before ACS Barker. The approval given to one is questionable. Some of us attended a town hall organized by the MP. Land Transport Authority (LTA) showed how they approved by providing pictures of two previous approvals they gave Macdonald’s in Tampines and Hougang. LTA could not answer how they gathered data on existing traffic conditions that are already so bad outside Caltex and ACS. Worst, they failed to give a satisfactory answer as to what basis those two sites were comparable to the one in Dunearn as there is no school student foot traffic in those two locations. A lot of unanswered question that LTA owes us. The manager of Caltex was hiding many things, including being evasive when asked about a bubble tea shop planned in the same petrol station. 

Please vote to stop the opening of Macdonald’s until LTA can show why student safety would not be compromised by the added traffic’s, not to mention how it would worsen the traffic condition which is already so bad. 

ACS principal was present at the town hall and his voices were not even being given any attention by LTA, led by an arrogant CEO who dodged every question from residents. 

LTA needs to answer what study they have done or simply done hiding in their office without on-site survey. Answers please. Or STOP the opening of Macdonald’s.
