Stop Lori Kauffman's Anti-LGBTQ and Anti-Jewish Campaign in Massachusetts
The Issue
As a Jewish resident of Massachusetts, I am deeply concerned about the rise of anti-Jewish and anti-LGBTQ sentiments being propagated by GOP candidate Lori Kauffman. Her rhetoric is not just harmful; it is dangerous. It fuels the flames of hatred and intolerance that are already too prevalent in our society.
Lori Kauffman has previously moved from Connecticut to Massachusetts, bringing with her a disturbingly divisive agenda. She openly supports far-right Neo-Nazi ideology and shares her discriminatory views against LGBTQ individuals and Jewish people. This is unacceptable.
According to the FBI's 2019 Hate Crime Statistics report, hate crimes based on sexual orientation represent 16.7% of all reported hate crimes, while those targeting Jews account for 60.2% of all religious-based hate crimes in America (FBI Hate Crime Statistics Report). These numbers are alarming enough without politicians like Lori Kauffman further normalizing such bigotry.
Lori was born Jewish but converted to Christianity. She is a far-right conspiracist who believes the covid vaccine is a Jewish plot that gave her brain cancer. She has expoused her beliefs on Holocaust denialism publicly, and believes all Jews should be exiled from Massachusetts. It's time that we exile her from Massachusetts first. Her campaign is for a seat in the Massachusetts Republican state committee, with vile promises of banning same-sex marriage and criminalizing transgender identity.
Massachusetts has always been a beacon for equality and acceptance - we cannot let this be tarnished by one individual's prejudice. We must stand together as a community against this kind of discrimination and ensure that our state remains welcoming for everyone regardless of their sexual orientation or religion.
We call upon the GOP to take immediate action against Lori Kauffman's hateful campaign tactics by exiling her back to Connecticut where she came from - away from our inclusive community here in Massachusetts.
Please sign this petition if you believe that there is no place for hatred or discrimination in our politics or society at large.
