We have placed holiday homes and caravans near the beach where seagulls live. By doing so, we have taken away their land. It is out of order to destroy and take away their nests when they have been living near the sea before us.

Like any wild bird, gulls and their eggs are protected by the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981. This proposal seeks to stop licenses that allow anyone to kill gulls, or destroy their nests and eggs.

Caravan parks near the beach often have seagull nests on top of caravans, allowing these birds to stay safe from predators. There are alternative methods available to prevent any damages that seagulls may cause without resorting to killing them or destroying their offspring.
